Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun says machineries had been put in place to ensure improved welfare and livelihood of the people of the state.
Governor Abiodun says his administration’s commitment to citizens welfare is unwavering and remains its top priority.
The Governor gave the assurance at a leadership capacity building conference organized by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, with the theme; “Overflowing Grace”, held at the Deeper Life Camp, Sam Ewang, Abeokuta, the state capital.
Abiodun who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, urged members of the body of Christ to join hands with the government towards realisation of the vision to take the State to the next level.
He said, ” Our government is committed to the welfare of the citizens and overall development of the state, so that at the end of our tenure, we will all be in a better place, with improved prosperity at all levels. We have pledged times without number that our government is for the whole state”.
The Governor noted that, in fulfilment of his electioneering promises, a state of emergency has been declared in the education sector, with ongoing rehabilitation of schools across the state, as well as improved Primary Health Care Services, to enable people have access to better health care system.
He added that interest free loan were given to women to support their trade.
Abiodun said the major challenge presently being faced is the deplorable condition of roads across the state, noting that the Public Works Department had commenced immediate repairs.
The Governing advised participants at the programme that capacity building cannot be separated from the church, workplace and family, while he tasked all religious bodies to continue to come up with initiatives that will improve their members’ welfare and make them better leaders and citizens of the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director General, Leadership Capacity Building Conference (LCBC) Apostle Daniel Olufemi, said the training was imperative in order to effectively handle specific assignments, as well as making people adequately display measures expected of Christians.
Also speaking at the event, the State Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State chapter, Apostle David Otaru, said the conference paraded arrays of seasoned resource persons drawn from all fields, in order to make it a truly holistic one.
He urged participants to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the conference.
